Ruben Amorim reveals problem Manchester United position

Manchester United suffered defeat to a ten-man Everton despite an early red card that sent Idrissa Gueye back to the dressing room. The defeat was United's fourth of the Premier League season, leaving the club 10th in the table.

Man United manager Ruben Amorim was left frustrated by the result, with his side looking rather unconvincing. The manager was without two big attacking threats in Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, who will remain sidelined for United's next match against Crystal Palace on November 30.

Amorim held his press conference ahead of the fixture at the weekend, and the manager pointed to one position that is causing problems for United.

What position does Amorim want to strengthen for Manchester United?

Amorim expressed his desire for more coverage at wing-back, citing Amad Diallo as a focal point in the position on the right side.

On the left side, Amorim started Patrick Dorgu, before replacing him with Diogo Dalot, who is naturally a full-back.

In his conference, Amorim was asked about the position, and he said, "We need time to improve the characteristics of the team. I've said that over the last year. To give an example, in the last game, we should have an Amad with the right foot to put on the other side to play against 10 men."

Amorim has been criticized often for failing to change his system, even with his squad struggling to adapt to his 3-4-2-1 formation.

The manager continued, "It is these characteristics that, in time, we will try to get to be a better team. If we are the perfect set-up to play in this way, not yet. But like any team, we need time to put the right characteristics into every position."

United will take on two of the best wing-backs in the league against Palace, with Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell always looking to threaten on the attack.
